I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over ten years ago and it has been a journey to discover what would help alleviate the on and off pain I experience. I would not have thought that a massage would help. In fact, I thought it would hurt to have my muscles touched. I was referred to Melissa by a colleague, also a licensed massage therapist, that knew of several health issues that I have and felt Melissa had the skills to work with me to address these issues. I started working with Melissa late last year and after several sessions of getting to know my tolerances, she started to work on the specific areas that were causing pain. The first of those sessions was pretty intense, but within a few days the benefit of her work became evident. She is continuing to work on those areas and the pain and stiffness are leaving my body. Much of the stiffness has been caused due to the fact that I was in so much pain for so long that my brain was wired to loop back to the pain. Once we broke that loop, although there are days that I falter, I can see a light at the end of all of this.
